About Uppsala
Uppsala is Sweden’s fourth largest city and has a long history as a center of education and culture. Uppsala University, founded in 1477, is the oldest university in the Nordic region. The city is also well known for Uppsala Cathedral – the largest church in Scandinavia – and Uppsala Castle. The river Fyrisån runs through the city center, creating a pleasant setting with parks, walking paths, and cafés along the waterfront. Central Uppsala combines historic buildings with more modern areas and offers a wide range of restaurants, shops, and services.
Visitors can easily travel to Uppsala by train from other parts of the country, and if you prefer to drive there are good road connections and parking options. From Arlanda Airport, the train ride takes about 20 minutes. The final stretch to Uppsala City Hall is just a short walk from the central station.
Conference Venue – Uppsala City Hall
Spårvägsforum will take place at Uppsala City Hall, located right in the city center and only a few minutes’ walk from the central station. The conference will be held in the City Council Chamber, and we are grateful for the opportunity to use this historic and significant venue.
Lodging
Uppsala offers a wide range of hotels, both in the city center and near the station. You are free to book the accommodation that best suits your needs.
